VAANI SPEAKERS ACADEMY VIRTUAL SAMAROP (CLOSING CEREMONY)

Important ideas imparted with effective communication hold great potential to influence thoughts, attitudes, and actions. As Karyakartas (volunteers) and ambassadors of our Dharma (righteous duty), it is important to cultivate key tools to communicate important ideas across society. With this in mind, Vaani Speakers’ Academy was founded with the purpose of creating a network of confident orators who can exude intellect and creativity from a Dharmic (righteous or value-based) perspective. Karyakartas of all ages and interests, holding key responsibilities across Sangh (community) and various Vidhya Kshetra (educational institutions) organisations, have been a part of this journey to be empowered with the skills to effectively share their message. Each cohort goes through a series of Abhyas Vargas (training sessions), focusing on various tools of speech delivery and concluding with a Samaarop (closing ceremony) presenting the narrative of their collective efforts.

The second cohort had an eventful experience with the pandemic in the midst of their programme, which led to adapting the Abhyas Vargas to a virtual format. This shift also provided the chance to develop the ability to communicate effectively online while still building on traditional public speaking techniques. The virtual Samaarop was a testament to this pivotal journey, broken down into four rich and clear episodes, each focusing on prominent Dharmic ideas shaped by the cohort. Each episode was hosted by a member of the first Vaani cohort, who shared their thoughts on similar topics of interest.

  • “Bharat’s contributions to the world” by Sangita Chhabadiya and Paresh Mistry centred on the importance of connecting back to our roots that have contributed to society across a range of spheres.

  • “Dharmic leadership” by Ajay Sohol and Bansri Lakhan offered unique perspectives on what it means to be a leader, with ideas on leadership centred around Satya (truth), and how we can develop a culture of freedom and responsibility, nurture creative ideas, and uphold personal integrity.

  • Kirit Bhagat explored the notion of destiny and our ability to respond with action in her speech “Is life shaped by actions or destiny?”

  • Jeel Shah examined the key values shaping a post-truth world in her speech “Values in a post-truth world”, alongside guest speaker Dr Sachin ji Nandha. You can watch back all four episodes in this YouTube Playlist.

The conclusion of the second cohort opens doors to new possibilities. With 15 capable orators trained, the Academy continues to grow and offer a wide range of impactful speeches and workshops. Many of these are available to watch on the Vaani Speakers’ Academy YouTube channel.

Public speaking with congruence holds great value to transpire Dharmic ideas across the various spheres of work, and we can start building on these skills from the comforts of our home with practice and reflection on Dharmic ideas we wish to impart in our society.
