Exploring Women’s Strength, Intuition and Creativity Through a Hindu Cultural Perspective

On International Women’s Day 2026, Vaani Speakers hosted “The Feminine Divine”, an inspiring webinar exploring the strength, intuition, creativity, and influence of women throughout history and in contemporary society.

The programme, held on Sunday, 8th March 2026, brought together speakers and participants for a thought-provoking discussion about the contribution of women and the importance of creating a more equitable future.

The theme of the event also provided an opportunity to explore the significance of the feminine within Hindu and Indian traditions. Hindu philosophy has a long history of recognising feminine forms of strength, knowledge, creativity, compassion, and leadership. Rather than viewing these qualities as belonging to one particular role, Hindu traditions often represent them through different manifestations of the divine feminine.

For example, Saraswati represents knowledge, learning, music, and the arts; Lakshmi represents prosperity, wellbeing, and abundance; and Durga represents strength, courage, and the ability to overcome adversity. These cultural traditions provide a rich framework for appreciating the many dimensions of women’s contribution to families, communities, and society.

The idea of the feminine as a source of strength and creativity is also reflected in the lives of many influential women throughout Indian history. Women have made significant contributions to education, social reform, science, literature, public life, and the arts, demonstrating that leadership and achievement can take many forms.

For Hindu communities, these traditions provide an important cultural reminder that recognising women’s potential is not simply a modern idea but has deep roots within India’s philosophical and cultural heritage.

Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (UK), commonly known as HSS (UK), is a voluntary cultural and community organisation that promotes personal development, family wellbeing, community service, and active citizenship across the United Kingdom. HSS (UK) encourages both women and men to contribute to society while remaining connected to the values and heritage of Hindu and Indian culture.

The “Feminine Divine” programme reflected these principles by creating a platform to celebrate women’s experiences and achievements while encouraging conversations about how women can help shape a more balanced, inclusive, and equitable future.

The discussion highlighted the importance of recognising not only visible achievements but also qualities such as resilience, intuition, creativity, compassion, and the ability to inspire others. These qualities can have a profound influence on families, workplaces, communities, and wider society.

The webinar was available live through the Vaani Speakers YouTube channel, allowing audiences to participate in the conversation and reflect on the diverse ways in which women contribute to the world around them.

International Women’s Day provides an opportunity not only to celebrate achievements but also to consider how society can continue creating opportunities for women to realise their potential. Bringing together contemporary perspectives with the rich cultural heritage of India offers an opportunity to celebrate women’s contributions while looking towards a more inclusive future.
