Prayer Competition
On the 10th April a Prathana (Prayer) Competition was organised by the Leamington Family Town. The goal was for the participants to recite the full Prathana from memory , with correct proununciation , tone , and pace. Since many didn’t know the full prayer , a practice session (Abhyas Varg) was held on the 9th April to help everyone to learn it the correct way.
Each participant recited the whole Prarthana with proper pronunciation and speed. The judges were impressed and provided each partcipant with encouraging feedback. Congratulations to the winners: Priyanshi Ben , Supriya Ben and Harshul ji , who all performed with great confidence – with Harshul tying with in a 3-way result for third place.
A participant , Parth Kale , said:
“From my own experience , I learned that it’s actually quite easy to learn something whether you’re young or old – if you give it your full attention and are willing to learn. Never give up and keep trying!”
Walking and Running Competition
During the Easter holidays, Leamington’s Shareerik (Physical Activity) team organised a Walking and Running Competition to lift spirits and encourage a healthy lifestyle. Participants earned points based on distance covered and whether they walked or ran. Walking distances were multiplied by three and running distances by five.
The competition saw a friendly rivalry between Leamington and nearby towns (Shakhas and Balgokulams). Every day , participants pushed themselves, and the leaderboard became more exiciting with each update. Scores were based on distance , and with that came bonus points for consistency and effort.
One standout was a Kishore , a 16-year-old who covered an amazing 29.2 km in one day!
Some participants even completed 16 km runs – an outstanding achievement!
After the seventeen days, the overall winner was Supriya Ben , age 16 , with a total of 591 points closely followed by a Kishore , who scored an incredible 567 points.
