Members of Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh UK in Nottingham marked UK Parliament Week 2025 with an art competition and a teenage debate on smartphones in schools, joined by MP James Naish.

The Ekta Pariwar Branch of Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (UK) in Nottingham was honoured to host a UK Parliament Week event, graced by chief guests Rt. Hon. James Naish, MP for Rushcliffe, and Hariom Gupta. The evening brought the local community together for an occasion built around learning, creativity, and leadership development.

Young Members Showcase Talent in Art Competition

The youngest members took part in an art competition. They beautifully portrayed iconic images of Westminster, Parliament, and Big Ben, bringing real creativity and care to their work.

Teenagers Debate Banning Smartphones in Schools

Meanwhile, the branch’s teenagers held a thought-provoking debate on the motion: “Smartphones must be banned in schools.” The debate gave participants a chance to build confidence, sharpen their critical thinking, and practise public speaking in front of an audience.

Certificates and Celebration

Every young participant received a certificate to mark their enthusiastic involvement throughout the event. For parents and volunteers alike, it was a proud and memorable moment. The evening closed with a shared lunch, bringing the whole community together to celebrate the day.
